  • Nhamo haityi imwe. A misfortune is not afraid of another one.
  • Nhamo urimbo inonamira. Misery is like bird-lime; it sticks (to men).
  • Nhamo ine dzimba dzayo. Misery haunts its (chosen) families.
  • Njodzi hadziiti mbiri. Danger never comes in twos.
